A tree in the amusingly named 'Gorge du Brian'. Not exactly the sort of name you expect for a French gorge but ...

A spectacular gorge with the village of Minerve on a rock in the middle of it.

Beautiful visit today - and unforgettable thanks to a French workman at roadworks on the way to the village deciding to 'relieve himself' right in front of us as we waited for the lights to change. As my eight year old shouted 'I can see his bits!'

Indeed!

Un arbre près de la cathedrale de Narbonne.

Lovely tall tree standing in the gardens next to Narbonne Cathedral.

Linking my week in Barcelona with my holiday in the south of France...a poppy.

Taken in the 'horta' at Els Pins, this 'amapola' is the flower after which our gite 'coquelicot' is named.

Not quite a tree but apposite!

This tree is courtesy of my friend, Viv who sent it to me with the following note -
'A hawthorn tree in full bloom near Oversley in Warwickshire.'

As I'm in Hawthorn house at WCPS, this is most appropriate.

Thanks Viv!

Today's tree is, actually, merely there as a measure of how high that human tower went!

Els Castellers de Vilafranca are champions four times over and are hoping to win their fifth title soon. They hold many records and I was fortunate enough to visit their training today and actually join in the practice!

Awesome.

A virtual tree at Barrufet school in the Sants district of Barcelona.

The school is in a factory so it's rather unusual. And it's full of beautiful artwork like this!

Trees by a peaceful fountain in the centre of Barcelona. Near to the Roman pillars in a house and also to the Ajuntament which we visited afterwards.

So tranquil!

Incredibly tall Barcelona trees today.

These are in Parc Guell in Barcelona, the municipal park designed by Gaudí.

A magical place with amazing trees!

Barcelona trees part one.

What a beautiful city - and so full of green trees.

Here are some of many!

Part two of my sunshine experiment.

More lying on the mossy grass and looking upwards.

Good to get a new perspective on life.

This is the first of two experiments in capturing the summer sun through the trees.

this was taken lying on my back on the grass. Not bad!

I am so terribly behind with my trees! I've been taking lots of pictures but just not had time to post them on the blog.

This isn't actually a tree but Jude was so proud of himself I had to post it.

He was off school today poorly and, when sent outside for a breath of air, come back triumphantly with a four leaf clover. Very impressive!

Another guest tree, this time from France!

My friend Jean-Gabriel took this in Mende, Lozere in the south of France. I had an appointment to video conference with there today. Sadly technology let us down but I did get to talk to J-G via mobile and see and hear him via Skype although they couldn't hear me!
And I did record a video message for such an eventuality!

Never mind!

Today's tree is courtesy of David Rogers, and formed part of his own 365 challenge!

I love the way that people know I'm doing a tree blog and send me photographs or point out when they've posted a photo I might like!

Thanks David - and all the other 'guest tree-ers'.

Keep them coming!

I was reminded of the need to take a photograph of this tree on a course the other day.

When showing the school wikispace, a delegate was heard to comment - 'why is there a red chair in front of your school?' The original version of the picture does indeed have a red chair in front of the school sign and it does look rather odd. At the time I was in a rush and posted it as was, meaning to retake the photograph the following day.

Except I never did.

Well, not until now!

So, for Molly at ATI, here's the photo sans chaise!

This afternoon I went for a bicycle ride with Jude through the Newhall Country Valley park. Not as long as the one a couple of weeks ago, but a decent jaunt, accompanied by cries of 'oh my bottom!' for about 45% of the journey (and not from me!)

I took this photograph as Jude cycled off ahead of me - it's safer to have him in front so you can see where he is despite his tendency to weave across the path!

Today we have a number of photos rather than one.

I've been playing with Comic Life using 'old' photographs from the Country Valley Park. I then put them into iMovie and made the mini movie above. Hope you like it!

Apple blossom.

This year should be a good year for our apple tree - it has an 'off' year when it doesn't produce much fruit and then a 'good' year when it is covered in apples. So this year should see lots of Devon Apple Cake, crumble and chutney :o)

Here's another tree I can see from the trampoline - in the garden on the other side.

I like this one as it has white bark and floaty leaves

A very tall tree I can see from the end of the garden.

I've spent quite a bit of time looking at it recently thanks to the arrival of the trampoline!

This is one of my favourite photographs, taken on the same day as yesterday's 'tree from the past'.

It reminds me of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet going for a walk with Christopher Robin. It's actually my husband and two boys.

They're very special.

A favourite tree picture today rather than one taken today.

This was taken two years ago on Redhill Common around Christmas time. It was a beautiful day and this is one of the most remarkable trees I've ever seen. According to my husband, a Redhill boy, it's always been like that with a very long trunk and little 'topknot'! As to the 'spike' tree, he thinks that used to be taller but the top fell off!

Another pretty blossom tree.

I've walked past this tree for years and years! It's near my family home and I used to walk past it every morning with my Mum and sister on the way to school.

Love the way trees don't change much!

Bank Holiday Monday and the sun was shining this morning as husband, youngest and I went for a ride on our bicycles.

Although it's not officially opened for another few weeks, we tried out the new cycle/walking path between New Hall Country Valley and Penns Hall. The new bit could do with some rolling as the gravel is very loose and caused a skid or two, but it's mostly flat and very pleasant.

On the way back we took the Penns Lane, Orphanage Road, Brooks Road, Kempson Avenue, Wylde Green Road, East View Road, Coles Lane route - and were hit by a hail storm in the latter stages.

However, on Brooks Road, I came across this tree that had caught my eye the other day as it is half green and half pink. Unusual!

Pink blossom today.

I took lots of pictures from the car today on the way back from toboganning at the Snowdome. Sorry about the quality - my hands were still somewhat frozen from being in sub zero conditions taking pictures of husband and youngest hurtling down the slopes!

Happy May Day!

Today's tree has featured previously on Trees365 - on 6th January to be precise! Last time it had no leaves and was covered in snow!

It's now a lovely russet red colour - so good to see some colour appearing on trees!
